The Rise of Women's Boxing: Caroline Dubois' Journey to the Top
In a bold move, lightweight champion Caroline Dubois has joined forces with Jake Paul's Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), solidifying her place on the highly anticipated undercard of Paul vs Joshua. This signing marks a significant step in Dubois' career and a potential turning point for women's boxing.
But here's where it gets controversial... Dubois, the current WBC title holder, has left her previous promoter, Boxxer, to join MVP, which has been on a female talent signing spree this year. MVP has already added world champions Ellie Scotney and Alycia Baumgardner to its roster, and now Dubois joins the pack.
At 24 years old, Dubois boasts an impressive record of 11 wins and 1 draw, and she's ready to defend her WBC title against Italy's Camila Panatta. This fight will take place on the undercard of the highly anticipated Paul vs Joshua showdown in Miami on December 19th.
"Signing with MVP is a natural progression for me," Dubois said. "I believe in their vision and their ability to help me achieve greatness. My mission is clear: to become the face of women's boxing."
And this is the part most people miss... Dubois has been eager to secure unification fights since becoming champion in 2024, but those opportunities have eluded her. Now, with MVP's backing, she aims to change that narrative.
The British boxing scene boasts several talented female champions, including Terri Harper (WBO), Stephanie Han (WBA), and Elif Nur Turhan (IBF). Dubois' brother, Daniel, is a former heavyweight world champion, and she held talks with Ben Shalom's Boxxer organization about a potential re-signing. However, she ultimately chose MVP, a decision that could shape the future of her career.
Nakisa Bidarian, co-founder of MVP, confirmed that Dubois will not only fight next week but also return to the UK for another bout in early 2026. "Dubois is the most sought-after free agent in women's boxing," Paul and Bidarian stated.
