Louvre workers announce strike over work conditions and security after $102M heist

Despite the authorities' efforts, the stolen jewels, including a diamond-and-emerald necklace given by Napoleon to Empress Marie-Louise, jewels linked to 19th-century queens Marie-Amélie and Hortense, and Empress Eugénie's pearl-and-diamond tiara, have yet to be recovered. The museum director's acknowledgment of a 'terrible failure' in security has only added fuel to the fire, leaving the workers and visitors alike questioning the museum's ability to protect its invaluable treasures.
